Starting with 1815, John Stevens, an American inventor and lawyer, has put the grounds of what was the first railroad charter ever created in the history of the U.S, followed by the first steam locomotive built by himself on 1826.
By 1890 there were over 163,597 miles railroads constructed throughout United States.
